Real Faience is Green not Brown

Egyptian Faience is Green or Greenish blue, not brown.  It is a paste made of crushed Malachite or Copper.  It is fired up like ceramics.  Yet... A Brown Faience Shabty - probably made of Nile Mud, appeared on the market....

A Shabty is a Servant in the Afterlife.  Lord Osiris demands work from idle spirits so this substitute for burying live servants with the King came into vogue.  This one came with a plastic stand and "inscription."
